AlpICT Cluster
Under the new policy areas, the cantons of Western Switzerland (Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Jura, Neuchâtel, Valais and Vaud) and SECO (State Secretariat for Economic Affairs) have established sectoral promotion platforms (biotech medtechnologies, micronanotechno-nologies, new information technology) to stimulate economic dynamics for the benefit of ICT stakeholders in Western Switzerland.
Growth has been stimulated by the need for secure data transfer by the many multinationals, banks and international organizations here. The high number of start-ups in bioinformatics, encryption systems, internet and network security is evidence that the Greater Geneva Berne area is positioning itself as a leader in this field.
The ICT Cluster Alp focuses on the actors of Information Technologies and Communication with international growth prospects. These include the following target types:
