Energy Cluster
The association energy-cluster.ch was established with a large participation of companies, schools and the public sector in 2004, Olten. The energy-cluster.ch has at the moment 200 members, of which approximately 80% are enterprises.
The energy-cluster.ch has an interactive knowledge database. The construction was part of the long transfer activities in the energy sector. About 2,000 profiles have been entered and also is possible to benefit from networking.
The energy sector is one of the pillars of the Swiss economy:
•The energy sector makes up to 10% of total value added
•CHF 800 million are used annually in R&D
•There is a huge efficiency potential in this area
•The export markets are growing 50-10% per year
•Energy production and use generates 11-16 billion in external costs.
•Lack of acceptance of new energy technologies.
