Overbetuwe
The municipality of Overbetuwe and the municipality of Lingewaard form together the Overbetuwe region.
There is an industrial zone with international orientation along the A15 motorway. A plot of 85 hectares net will be issued here until the year 2020. The area lies to the south of the A15 motorway and west of Griftdijk.
There is still one cluster left for large-scale retail trade establishments in Overbetuwe and it is projected somewhere in the area between Arnhem and Nijmegen. The space that will be vacant elsewhere will get another designated use. As a result, large-scale retail trade will be possible only in the inner cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen or near the Kronenburg city centre in Arnhem and Dukenburg in Nijmegen. The agricultural sector will keep its primacy in the region of Overbetuwe, west of the village of Elst.
Other areas intended to be used for agricultural purposes in Cool Region are Duivense Broek and an area west of the village of Beuningen. The agricultural sector will reinforce the surrounding landscape while the need for recreation is also taken into account.
