Berlin Brandenburg International (BBI) is set to boost the economy in the German Capital Region. The airport will open in 2011 as one of Europe’s main air traffic hubs.

The German Capital Region is connect to cities all over the world:

The E30 motorway—one of Europe’s main east/west axes, linking Moscow to Warsaw and Rotterdam—runs through the region. It connects Western Europe to the new growth markets in the east of the continent. Poland, for example, is just within a one-hour’s lorry drive. Other motorways that cross the region lead to Scandinavia, the Baltic Sea and Southern Europe.

Furthermore, two transcontinental train routes cross at Berlin’s main train station: Paris-Moscow and Rome-Stockholm.

The German capital, is located at the heart of the region and encircled by a ring motorway with connections to all directions. The new A113 motorway and several regional train lines connect Berlin’s city centre with the new BBI airport in about twenty minutes.
