bavAIRia e.V. is a cluster designed to enhance competitiveness and innovative drive in the aerospace sector and the satellite navigation field. bavAIRia e.V. aims to create and strengthen networks of companies, universities and research establishments, integrating business within the Bavaria region while strengthening external activities.
Over one third of those employed in the aviation and space industry, some 35,000 people, work in Bavaria. They generate 6.9 billion euro in turnover annually, the top position among Germany?s states. Bavaria is one of the few international aviation centers offering a complete value adding chain extending from research to design to the final product, including operational supervision. Bavaria constructs ?complete? civilian and military aircraft, helicopters, satellites, guided missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). About 1,500 people currently work in some 150 companies active in the young branch of satellite navigation.
