BioLAGO Life Science Network

The Lake Constance region is one of the most successful economic areas in Europe. It is an innovative technology and engineering site location with an outstanding concentration of internationally oriented education, as well as research facilities and high quality of life.

The BioLAGO region combines the resources and strengths of the four highly-developed, German-speaking countries Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein -  from Sigmaringen through Konstanz to Zurich, from Schaffhausen through St. Gallen to Dornbirn.

It is in recent years that this Development cluster became stronger in this cross-national economy, in particular by the momentum of companies in the field of life sciences, nanotechnology and environmental technology.

A wide spectrum of scientific expertise and a close integration of research and teaching mark the International Lake Constance area.

With the scientific institutions of excellence of the University of Konstanz, the Biotechnology Institute Thurgau, EMPA (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research Institute) in St. Gallen, and the many interdisciplinary colleges, this corner region of innovators and knowledge-transfer has acquired a very good reputation far beyond the borders of the region.

The Lake Constance region is considered the "region of short distances"due to the rapid technology- transfer,  research institutions and its marketable use, as well as the strong infrastructure.
