Wood Cluster Galicia

On April 20 th 2001, the Wood Cluster in Galicia was officially presented in Santiago de Compostela.

The Wood Cluster is set up with the purpose of achieving the union, cooperation and integration of all the companies and representatives in the Wood Chain in the Galician Region. It aimed at reaching a higher level of competitiveness in the whole sector, establishing the bases for future joint actions, forming a genuine discussion and action forum, in order to foster the Galician wood culture and to defend all their interests in general.

The Wood Cluster in Galicia, CMA in Spanish, is formed by a total of 60 associated companies from different sub-sectors in the wood chain in the Galician Region.: forestry, sawing, veneer and board, pulp and paper, carpentry and furniture, adhesives and varnishes and services.

The turnover of the companies associated with the Wood Cluster is more than 1.500 million euros, and it represents 70% of the wood sector in Galicia, giving direct employment to more than 11.500 employees.
