Research
The main thrust at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology is on goal-oriented research and development (R&D) relevant to the country's needs. With these aims and objectives, the University is in charge of ensuring that high quality research of direct relevance to Mongolia's needs is pursued in all schools of the university.
The university is setting up linkages between the University and industry in both the public and private sectors to facilitate contract research benefiting both parties. Moreover, our researchers co-ordinate their research activities within the university as well as research jointly undertaken by the University's faculty members, public organizations and private sector. About 60 percent of our faculty are members of the Mongolian and joint research projects teams.
The management of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology also encourages and activates research activities in order to upgrade the quality of overall teaching and learning within the university. To keep the University's faculty abreast of the latest developments in their respective areas of specialization and in order to enhance the scope and pace of research and development work at the MUST, nearly 40 research centers and 6 institutes have been established. 96 chaired professorships accomplished about 150 research works in 2009. There are 2 foreign invested companies and 3 MUST projects under development at the university's technology incubator center in 2010.
