Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology - KAST

In cooperating with KSP Inc. at Kanagawa Science Park, KAST will endeavor to form new industries through the creation of R&D ventures and through support for joint projects involving industry, academia and local government.

KAST facilitates cooperation among industry, academia and government and enables outstanding new R&D results in cutting-edge fields in science and technology. These results are helping to build a better society for the future.

In April 2005, Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) and the Kanagawa High-Technology Foundation (KTF) were integrated and evolved into a new institution. The two institutions had been working as creative centers of science and technology in Kanagawa Prefecture to encourage creative research and to provide support for technological development in cutting-edge fields.

KAST provides testing and analytical services to local companies that are coming to grips with the complexities of manufacturing.
KAST also facilitates technology transfers based on the needs of local companies. For example, it transfers promising research results obtained at universities to local companies, to help respond to issues confronting local communities.
Advisors are always available to provide support for patent circulation and to encourage the use of patent information. They are always pleased to accept the opportunity to consult with companies in their local area.

KAST also offers an array of educational programs with rich curricula, and encourages the scientific and technical abilities and talents of the younger generation.
