La Zona Franca del Pacifico (Pacific Free Trade Zone) is a modern private international industrial and logistic platform located in the department of Valle del Cauca in Colombia. Pacific Free Trade Zone enjoys the benefits of a duty-free system and seeks to promote and develop the industrialization of goods and services to strengthen the competitiveness of its users and exploit the opportunities of international trade and bilateral agreements of Colombia with other countries aimed at providing national and foreign companies duty-free access the world market.
Pacific Free Trade Zone has extensive experience in the operation of specials Free Trade Zones (single enterprise free trade zones) and permanent free trade zones, having been in operation since October 1993, time in which our managers and office staff have been trained and have made significant contributions to the Free Trade Zones system in Colombia. Permanent Special Free Trade Zone Industries Renewable De Colombia SA (Merhav Group): Agro-Industrial Zone located in the municipality of Pivijay, Department of Magdalena, whose investment amounts to USD 250 million. Its primary purpose is the production and marketing of ethanol for use as fuel alcohol as a raw material juice extraction process from sugar cane. The estimated production of 376,000 liters of ethanol per day. Additionally it is contemplated as a second activity is the generation of energy from bagasse, leaves and biogas, using the stillage resulting from the process for the production and sale of liquid fertilizer. |
