Technology District in Buenos Aires
During the last years, in different cities of the five continents, there have been some urban projects to host those companies devoted to producing some value in the field of new information and communication technologies (ICTs). These initiatives have involved the private sector, governments, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
These innovation nodes are designed with a strategic orientation that combines the attraction of talents and the production of activities related to art, culture and creativity, which foster social identity and the sense of belonging. Together with some developed systems of transport and communications, these initiatives aim at developing new scenarios of integration, competition and cooperation.
In this context, the Draft Bill on the Promotion of Information and Communication Technology Companies in the City of Buenos Aires was presented to the Magistrate’s Council (Magistratura) of the City of Buenos Aires with the aim of positioning this City as an excellence center for software production and ICT development.
